NYColor eyeshadow look - Skyrise Steel palette & Big Bold Curl mascara

Last week the wonderful people at NYColor sent me a box of goodies to try & review on my blog. I'm already a NYColor fan but they sent me new items to give a whirl. I haven't had the chance to try them all out yet but I'm getting there...

This is my box of goodies! Thank you Danielle @ NYC, she was amazing to work with. Super nice and very helpful !

Lots of fabulous lip products ! Gloss, Balm & Stains (oh my!)

mascaras with curled wands are my favorite !!!

Defiantly been wanting to try a new primer, hmm maybe this will be my new holy grail primer!

I LOVE eyeshadow palettes that come with colors that compliment each other,  makes for a no brainer application when I'm in a hurry & great for travel.. and I haven't used the sparkling eye dust but I did swatch it and it's super pigmented !!!!!

Today I posted this photo on Instagram and I did a whole face using a mix of new NYC products and ones I already had (West Side Wine blush is my FAVE) crazy me deleted half the photos on accident :( but I do still have some eye pictures showing off the Big Bold Curl mascara & the Skyrise Steel palette

I covered my lid in the white "highlight" color then put the gray tone in the crease, layered the black on the outside corner of my lid and lightly brought it in about halfway then mixed the black & gray to make my crease more intense then the white highlight on the brow bone. Added a few layers of the Big Bold Curl mascara onto curled eye lashes and I'm done. I would probably not do this as a day time look again but defiantly for a night out !! The shadows went on easily and blended great , they did not leave fall out all over my face and that's always a plus!

Mini Make-Up Haul 8-27-13

Any store I EVER go into I always check their beauty aisle for any deals they may have, the Dollar Tree is no exception. Actually its one of my favorite places to pick up great beauty deals for only $1 !!!! If you've never been to a DT you need to go asap ! They most always carry the L.A. Colors brand but other notable brands I've spotted are Bonnebell, E.L.F., L'Oreal, Milani, Covergirl, Sally Hansen, NYColor & Olay. I can't promise yours will have those... it is hit & miss. Sometimes I go and leave with nothing other times I spend more money than I would like to admit in a place where nothing is over a dollar. Besides cosmetics & make up brushes I've also bought nail polish, np remover, make up remover wipes, emery boards, tweezers, cuticle clippers, and so on and so on ! Oh and they have nice candles holders , and other glass dishes and small vases that easily double as brush holders and for only $1 !!!!! So I stopped in today and this is what I bought....

My Mini Haul !

L'Oreal blush in Caribbean Coral & bronzy color blush but it will be used as Bronzer for contouring!
They had another color of blush...Flamingo? I didn't get it but I should have.

NYColor eye shadow palette in Urban Spice

L.A. Colors loose pigment eye shadow in Black Pearl
besides the black I seen white, gold, & a pink. Should have bought those too.

E.L.F. Studio contour brush
I've bought tons of E.L.F. brushes from DT but never a Studio Brush. Of all the ones they had today this was the only one I didn't have so I grabbed it.

40% off Fergie Wet N Wild cosmetics at Walgreens !

Just wanted to let you guys know that Walgreens is having 40% off of there Wet N Wild Fergie line this week 8/25-8/31 . This does not include regular WNW products just the Fergie line. I hadn't bought any products from the Fergie line yet so I decided to run over to my local Walgreens this morning to see what they had ! Very happy I did because I got a GREAT deal !!! And one of the eye shadow quads I picked up had a manufactures $1 off coupon ! Woop Woop! I was excited!

New Port Nights eye shadow quad. Loving the girly colors !!!

Desert Festival eye shadow quad. This is going to be AMAZING for Fall!
& YouTube's LeighAnn Says did an eye look with this check her out !

This blush wasn't apart of the Fergie collection but it caught my eye and was begging to go home with me (: and the other blushes I have from WNW are so pigmented and last me forever so why not?! (:

The eyeshadows are normally $4.99 apiece at Walgreens & with the in store sale they were marked $2.99 plus one had an instant $1 off coupon making it $1.99 *STEAL DEAL ALERT* & my blush was $2.99 so altogether for two Fergie eye shadow quads and a blush I only spend $8.60 after taxes. I can say I am one happy customer. I cannot wait to try these out !! Comment below or email me and let me know what you purchased during your wet n wild Fergie haul this week !!

E.L.F. Cosmetics Review 8-14-13

This is an E.L.F. review of some products I bought at Target & ordered offline a few weeks ago !

32 color warm eye shadow palette - $6 @ Target

It's a mix of matte & shimmer colors. I have so use an eyelid primer when using these because they are pretty sheer. The shimmers seem to be more pigmented and work the best for me, the matte ones are a bit chalky and get everywhere. I mostly use the shimmers. But still for $6 its not a bad deal!

These aren't all of the shimmers but a few swatches with no primer.

E.L.F. Studio Eyebrow kit - $3

This is a colored brow gel with a finishing powder and it comes with a double ended brush to apply both. It comes in 4 shades light, medium, dark & ash. I have dark. I use the gel mostly and sometimes the powder but I do like it a lot, its pretty dark so you have to be careful and use a light hand I think maybe next time I'll go with medium to try it out and see.

E.L.F. Super gloss lip shine in Angel - $1.00

I probably wouldn't have bought this on my own but it was part of the steal deal and it let you choose a color and I choose a clear because I needed a clear gloss because I only have a billion tinted glosses but I do like it and use it. Its a little sticky and it doesn't have small glitter specks in it but it doesn't look like that on your lips, just super shiny and I like it.

E.L.F. eye shadow brush - $1 each

I was in need of a few new brushes so I picked these up at Target, for $1 !!! And I do have to say I'm in love ! I don't use the defining eye brush as much as I thought but I do still like it. I use the smudge brush for packing on color and it works amazing . I have not had any problems with these shedding and the handles are very sturdy. I would 100% recommend these brushes to anyone. I will be buying more brushes from the E.L.F. line !

E.L.F Studio Blush brush - $3

Elf's studio line is the more "high end" part of their cosmetics line and the brushes cost a little more than the Essentials brushes which you can tell from how soft the brushes are but I like them all equally. This was also a part of the steal deal because I wouldn't have bought this on my own , I like it but its not fluffy enough for me and my blush, I'll probably use it for contouring but its super soft !! And very nice quality !

 E.L.F. - Mineral Eye shadow in Caffeinated - $3

Also apart of the steal deal but I was super excited because my newest obsession is loose eye shadows! I thought the color was going to be darker but it turned out fine I like it and have been using it a lot and it has all day staying power . I do use the ELF eye lid primer with it and its amazing. I will defiantly buy these in other colors, there are over 26 colors available.

E.L.F. Liquid Eyeliner in Coffee - $1

I haven't actually used this yet because I'm not really into liquid liner lately , I've been using felt tip liners but this was included in my steal deal and I have a ton of black so I wanted to get something different and they offered blues, greys, blacks, browns and a gold shimmer and I was thinking this would be the most practical and I would get more use out of it but now I'm wishing I would have picked the gold because I've been obsessed with gold. But I'm sure I'll use it at some point , I did swatch it and its pretty.

ELF - Studio translucent matifying powder - $3

I have been using this almost daily and it holds true to its name and works amazing !! I don't use the sponge they supplied , I wish they would have left out the sponge altogether and just made the entire thing powder because its really a small amount of powder.

ELF studio mascara primer - $3

Another product I wouldn't have bought on my own but I'm glad I have it now. It helps separate my eye lashes and makes my mascara go on way more smooth and last longer and not smudge ! Defiantly a keeper in my book !

August 2013 Ipsy Glam Bag - Glamour Academy

My glam bag came today !!! I didn't know what I was getting because my Glam Room didn't update until after my bag came for some reason so it was defiantly a surprise this time and it came much faster than last time. I waited 8 days after it was sent out last time compared to the speedy(er) 4 day delivery this time ! This was my 2nd month with Ipsy and I plan on keeping my subscription because I'm pleased once again....and on that note lets check out the goodies in my August bag "Glamour Academy"

This is my first look !

I was satisfied over all with the items that came in my bag this month., I would have rather had a blush than the eye shadow since its the same color as my NYX loose pigment shadow I just bought a few weeks back and I was so thrilled to have a Michael Todd product in my bag !! The complete contents of my bag : Urban Decay Lipstick in Anarchy - Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal facial scrub - Mica Beauty loose pigment shimmer powder in Bronze - Pixi Lash Booster Mascara - Chella eye brow pencil in dark brown & the purple bag in the background is this months bag. I'm not a fan of it but it does seem sturdy & of good quality.

This is the UD lipstick packaging showing off all of the colors in their line

I LOVE the color & it just happen to match my nails ! Its a deluxe sample but its still tiny. It's so mini it's cute ! But I'll get enough use out of it to give a good review !

Pixi Lash Booster Mascara ! Can't wait to try out a new mascara !

The packaging says "shimmer powder" I assume its an eye shadow because I probably wouldn't wear this color anywhere else. I mean you could add it to clear gloss to make a lip color or clear polish to make a bronzy color polish but this will probably go unopened for a while or in the donate box because I have a full loose pigment color from NYX in the same exact color.

These are the prices I "calculated" based on sample sizes vs full size & full size price.

                      Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick 0.03oz - $7.30
Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal facial scrub 1oz - $5.82
Mica Beauty Shimmer powder 0.10oz - $14.95 (I'm pretty sure this is full size)
Pixi Lash Booster Mascara - $5.66
Chella eye brow pencil 0.09g - $18.00 (I'm not sure if this is full size but its a good size)

I tried to place a true value on these products according to the sizes and online pricing and I came up with a total of $51.73 for my August bag & I didn't even total in a price for the bag but that's also give or a take a few dollars . But for $10 a month I am satisfied with this bag !

And if you still aren't signed up for Ipsy & you plan on it please use my link and help me score an extra goodie in my next Glam Bag ! Click here to sign up now ! << Thank you for all of your help!

Essie nail polish dupe : Play Date

I've been looking for the perfect purple polish for weeks now & I came across Play Date by Essie and fell in love, but I'm a one time use polish kinda girl , most of the time I use the polish once or twice and move on to a new color so I really didn't want to spend $8 on a polish to use once.
And on the search for a dupe I found one so close that I was more in love with the dupe!

Essie nail polish in Play Date - $8

Sally Hansen polish in No Hard Feelings - $2

These colors are side by side the left side is Essie Play Date & the right side is Sally Hansen No Hard Feelings. Um are they not identical ?! & the $6 difference isn't too bad either! I wore them both with no top coat and they both lasted about a week so the more expensive one doesn't stay on any longer than the less expensive one.

NEW ALERT : Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue ! *UPDATED*

I posted a picture a few weeks ago of a "coming soon" sign in Walmart from Maybelline for a new line of Baby Lips. Well I was browsing Wanelo tonight & saw these babies pop up (:

Looks like Baby Lips has a new line of medicated tinted lip balms coming out soon ! These will be perfect for fall & winter when the cold windy weather starts drying out my lips !! I googled these Dr. Rescue balms and couldn't find hardly any information on them so check back soon for more info & a possible spotting of these !

*I still haven't spotted these at any local drugstores or Walmarts in North Florida but I've seen other people posting online about them popping up in their area so I'm sure it won't be long. The Walmart & Walgreens in my area still have their coming soon sign posted so I'm still waiting !!! Comment below and let me know if you have gotten your hands on these new babies yet!

***FINALLY*** I was in Walmart shopping today and they have finally gotten the Baby Lips Dr Rescue on the shelves ! They are a little more than the regular Baby Lips.

eyes.lips.face. steal deal for $10 !

All of the E.L.F. products I have ever gotten I'd always found at Target, K-Mart, or Bealls Outlet , I visit the website often but I never like to pay shipping. Well I signed up for their email mailing list (best & worst idea ever) best because I get so many deals worst because I want to buy all of these  great deals ! Anyways they had a $10 deal , 6 products that were dupes for high end make up products that retail for $14 (not including shipping) but since its a deal you pay $10 for 6 products and free shipping. Hello sign me up I LOVE a deal and I LOVE free shipping. The products were preselected you just get to choose the colors you want. Not exactly products I would have picked but a good way to try things you normally wouldn't !

It arrived Friday - 3 days early !

Here's what was inside the white envelope, all packaged in a clear drawstring bag.

I wanted to show a picture of everything I bought but my pictures weren't turning out right & the ELF website was not loading properly so for now I'll just include the list of products...
  • Super Glossy Lip Shine in Angel
  • Liquid Eyeliner in Coffee (brown)
  • Mineral Eye Shadow in caffeinated
  • Mascara Primer
  • Translucent Matifying powder
  • blush brush
I've never used any of these products before so it will be fun to try new items from ELF, which I'm sure I will love since I love the products I already own from them !

*I started writing this Friday when my package arrived in the mail and I'm just not posting it today (Sunday) so I have already tried a few products out so expect a review really soon !
