E.L.F. Cosmetics Review 8-14-13

This is an E.L.F. review of some products I bought at Target & ordered offline a few weeks ago !

32 color warm eye shadow palette - $6 @ Target

It's a mix of matte & shimmer colors. I have so use an eyelid primer when using these because they are pretty sheer. The shimmers seem to be more pigmented and work the best for me, the matte ones are a bit chalky and get everywhere. I mostly use the shimmers. But still for $6 its not a bad deal!

These aren't all of the shimmers but a few swatches with no primer.

E.L.F. Studio Eyebrow kit - $3

This is a colored brow gel with a finishing powder and it comes with a double ended brush to apply both. It comes in 4 shades light, medium, dark & ash. I have dark. I use the gel mostly and sometimes the powder but I do like it a lot, its pretty dark so you have to be careful and use a light hand I think maybe next time I'll go with medium to try it out and see.

E.L.F. Super gloss lip shine in Angel - $1.00

I probably wouldn't have bought this on my own but it was part of the steal deal and it let you choose a color and I choose a clear because I needed a clear gloss because I only have a billion tinted glosses but I do like it and use it. Its a little sticky and it doesn't have small glitter specks in it but it doesn't look like that on your lips, just super shiny and I like it.

E.L.F. eye shadow brush - $1 each

I was in need of a few new brushes so I picked these up at Target, for $1 !!! And I do have to say I'm in love ! I don't use the defining eye brush as much as I thought but I do still like it. I use the smudge brush for packing on color and it works amazing . I have not had any problems with these shedding and the handles are very sturdy. I would 100% recommend these brushes to anyone. I will be buying more brushes from the E.L.F. line !

E.L.F Studio Blush brush - $3

Elf's studio line is the more "high end" part of their cosmetics line and the brushes cost a little more than the Essentials brushes which you can tell from how soft the brushes are but I like them all equally. This was also a part of the steal deal because I wouldn't have bought this on my own , I like it but its not fluffy enough for me and my blush, I'll probably use it for contouring but its super soft !! And very nice quality !

 E.L.F. - Mineral Eye shadow in Caffeinated - $3

Also apart of the steal deal but I was super excited because my newest obsession is loose eye shadows! I thought the color was going to be darker but it turned out fine I like it and have been using it a lot and it has all day staying power . I do use the ELF eye lid primer with it and its amazing. I will defiantly buy these in other colors, there are over 26 colors available.

E.L.F. Liquid Eyeliner in Coffee - $1

I haven't actually used this yet because I'm not really into liquid liner lately , I've been using felt tip liners but this was included in my steal deal and I have a ton of black so I wanted to get something different and they offered blues, greys, blacks, browns and a gold shimmer and I was thinking this would be the most practical and I would get more use out of it but now I'm wishing I would have picked the gold because I've been obsessed with gold. But I'm sure I'll use it at some point , I did swatch it and its pretty.

ELF - Studio translucent matifying powder - $3

I have been using this almost daily and it holds true to its name and works amazing !! I don't use the sponge they supplied , I wish they would have left out the sponge altogether and just made the entire thing powder because its really a small amount of powder.

ELF studio mascara primer - $3

Another product I wouldn't have bought on my own but I'm glad I have it now. It helps separate my eye lashes and makes my mascara go on way more smooth and last longer and not smudge ! Defiantly a keeper in my book !

eyes.lips.face. steal deal for $10 !

All of the E.L.F. products I have ever gotten I'd always found at Target, K-Mart, or Bealls Outlet , I visit the website often but I never like to pay shipping. Well I signed up for their email mailing list (best & worst idea ever) best because I get so many deals worst because I want to buy all of these  great deals ! Anyways they had a $10 deal , 6 products that were dupes for high end make up products that retail for $14 (not including shipping) but since its a deal you pay $10 for 6 products and free shipping. Hello sign me up I LOVE a deal and I LOVE free shipping. The products were preselected you just get to choose the colors you want. Not exactly products I would have picked but a good way to try things you normally wouldn't !

It arrived Friday - 3 days early !

Here's what was inside the white envelope, all packaged in a clear drawstring bag.

I wanted to show a picture of everything I bought but my pictures weren't turning out right & the ELF website was not loading properly so for now I'll just include the list of products...
  • Super Glossy Lip Shine in Angel
  • Liquid Eyeliner in Coffee (brown)
  • Mineral Eye Shadow in caffeinated
  • Mascara Primer
  • Translucent Matifying powder
  • blush brush
I've never used any of these products before so it will be fun to try new items from ELF, which I'm sure I will love since I love the products I already own from them !

*I started writing this Friday when my package arrived in the mail and I'm just not posting it today (Sunday) so I have already tried a few products out so expect a review really soon !

E.L.F. Cosmetics Review

These are a few ELF products I picked up a few weeks ago to try out. I've never ordered from them until my friend Heather was going on and on about them one day so I bought a few things to try out. They have a wide varity of beauty products to try so it was kinda hard to pick !! And very inexpensive products so that's always nice (: you can order their products online on E.L.F. Cosmetics or a few stores I've been in carry them Walgreens, Target & KMart. And also right now during the month of July they are celebrating their 9th Birthday so check out the website for the great deals they have going on !

ELF All Over Cover Stick - $1.00 (I use Apricot Beige)
I had doubts about this all over cover stick because it was only a dollar but let me say I love it ! It comes in 7 colors so there is a shade for most skin types . Oh and it smells yummy , like fruit...which is odd for a concealer stick but its a good odd (: I don't have trouble blending this out and the stick is easy to use . I will be buying this again !

ELF Essential Brightening Eye Color in Butternut - $1.00
This is the quad I have with the light tan, peachy tan, brown and bronzy brown...this picture doesn't do the colors justice because they are nicer in person. I've used these colors together and with other eye shadows I own. They aren't the most pigmented but for a dollar they do the job. Although I wouldn't say they are eye brightening but the colors are nice and I use the bronzy brown as a crease color often. There are 12 different quads in the brightening collection and there are a wide range of colors. Overall I think these are nice little quads and for a dollar I would buy this one again or one of the other colors they have.

ELF Studio 3-1 Mascara $3.00 (This is also in my 10 Under 10 post)
This is the most expensive ELF purchase I made. And it is worth way more ! I am beyond in love with this mascara . This was a first for me with this style brush with the little ball on the end and I love love !! I should have bought two tubes. It goes on clump free, looks good alone or layered with other mascaras, it makes my lashes look a mile long and it last! And that little ball is great for getting in the corners and hard to reach places and for adding a little extra to the tips of my lashes to give them a lengther look !

ELF Bronzing Brush - $1.00

ELF All Over Brush - $1.00

The bronzing brush I actually use to apply my highlight power and its great for that since its a smaller angled brush. Sometimes I use it for blush or bronzing but not usually. And the all over brush I just haven't been that impressed with. Its not fluffy enough for me. I like a super fluffy brush for my all over powder and bronzing that I do. But I will say that these brushes don't shed all over me even after I wash them which that impressed me a lot considering they were only $1.00 and I've had much more expensive brushes just fall apart and shed all over me. I would buy more brushes from the ELF line.

ELF Essential Eye Primer - $1.00 in sheer
The color says sheer but its more of a light tan color which is fine since the other eye primer I have is a shimmery silver and the ELF primer creates a more neutral base and its kinda sticky which I like because it keeps my loose shadows in place !

Overall I was really impressed with the E.L.F. Cosmetics and I will be buying more from them!
