NYX Lipstick & Lipgloss Swatches

Swatches of my current NYX lip collection. I've split them up into 4 different categories since I have products from 4 of their different lip lines...enjoy my loves!

First up NYX Glam Aqua Luxe lipstick - The aqua part is right it feels moisturizing like lip balm but its lipstick, and these are defiantly glam, they are stock full of glitter, very fine glitter so its not chunky feeling on your lips, these are quite fabulous!
Both pictures L to R: Pink Jewel, Aurora, Glory, Holistic, Splendid, & Elusive

NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colors lipsticks - The packaging is different but these are from the same line
No glitter just regular lipsticks that wear fabulously .
Both pictures L to R: Jupiter & Violet Ray (my current favorite for fall!)

NYX Glam Aqua Luxe lipgloss
glittery & fabulous just like the lipstick version
Both pictures L to R: Disco Playground, High Society &  Paint the Town

NYX Butter gloss
So if you haven't been using these soft buttery sweet smelling glosses you need to get them asap! My most favorite NYX lip product of them all.
Both pictures from L to R: Merengue, Crème Brulee & Apple Strudel

NXY cosmetics swatches

I've been on a NYX kick the last week & a half. Ulta had 40% off then I was in a department store and picked up a few NYX lip products so here goes the swatches!

Lipstick: Violet Ray Lip Liner: Nude

Butter Gloss: L to R : Merengue, Crème Brulee, & Apple Strudel
(These smell so good you will want to eat them)

Love in Rio: Segredos de Giselle , Love in Florence : Meet my Romeo, Loose Pigments: Nude

Loose Pigment: Nude

Love in Rio: Segredos de Giselle

Love in Florence : Meet my Romeo

(of all the eye shadow colors I think NYX shimmers are wayyyy better than their mattes. I would never buy a matte NYX color without swatching it first.)

Concealer stick in fair & Auto eyebrow pencil

concealer stick in fair & eyebrow pencil in light brown, I think.
The concealer looks ok swatched but on my face its crap. I have the HD concealer by NYX also and I also have not had good luck with that.

NYX Loose pearl eye shadow review & a new lipgloss !

At Ulta a few weeks they had NYX cosmetics at Buy one get one 50% off  and I really wanted to try their yellow corrector concealer but everything else that had I already had or didn't interest me but I really really wanted something for half off. I seen the loose pearl eye shadows at $3.00...but with the current sale it would have made it $1.50 so I thought I could try a loose shadow since I've never used one, I've been on a gold kick so what better time to try a gold shimmer shadow !

NYX Ultra Pearl loose eyeshadow in Mink - $2.99 @ Ulta

I just tap a little onto my hand, and really a little goes a long way !

I've been applying it with my small E.L.F. smudge brush $1.00 @ Target !

I just tap it out and out until I get the amount I want or coverage I need.
Today I used it across my lids with a brown crease color and then an off white creamy high light. It was beautiful ! I have not been using a primer with this and it still looks amazing on and last a while. After about 10 hours I do notice creasing but really 10 hours that's a long time! But I'm sure if I used a primer it would last longer. To say I am in love with this product is an understatement ! I will be buying more of these on my next trip to Ulta !

My New Lip Gloss !

NYC Liquid Lipshine in Brighton Beach Peach - $1.97

I have been looking for an orangey - peachy - coral colored gloss everywhere !!
Its a pretty color once applied , I really don't like the applicator but I can over look that and its a tad sticky but if I apply chapstick before hand I don't notice the sticky as much . I like this a lot for under $2 and will probably buy more of these, they did have a lot of colors to choose from.

Ulta, Target, & Ross Haul

Had a girls morning and played in the make-up at Ulta then went over to Target to pick up some things I was wanting to try and then I found a new brush at Ross finally ! I bought a new foundation and its not in a bottle or pump...wahh! We shall see and I needed new eye brushes yay for ELF umm and a brow bar finally !!! And I needed a new hair brush but really was not wanting to spend $20 on one...that just seems crazy to me! I've had this ELF eye shadow palette in my online checkout bag for ever it seems and I was like umm I don't want to pay shipping until I find a few more items to add to the basket but then I get into Target and its there so now its mine (: can't wait to play in these and see how they turn out.

Too Faced - Natural Eye Collection - $36

At Ulta I came across this eye shadow palette but I really didn't want to spend $36 on the whole thing when I only wanted two colors *Honey Pot - um the MOST beautiful gold shadow ever , its perfect and *Push Up - I would wear that as a crease color everyday !!! But I checked the single eye shadows in store at Ulta and they didn't have those colors so I'm on an online hunt for them because I really have to have them !!!
*Update* I checked the Too Face website & they don't have it in a single shade by itself that I could find but I did find it in a duo with cocoa puff (that's the brown right next to honey pot) and I could see myself using CP too so I think that's what I'm going to go with ! And these colors were really nice so I may go ahead & buy the whole palette?! Also the ELF eye palette that I bought today for ($6!!!!) has an exact dupe for the Honey Pot color...which I discovered after I got home and actually swatched some of the colors so then again maybe I will get on ELF's website & see if I can find it. Wahh so many choices !

NYX, Hard Candy, & Vitabath Review

Just a few products I bought a couple weeks ago & have been trying out (:

Hard Candy Glow all the way luminizer -$8.00 @ Walmart
I've really really been wanting to try out a cream/liquid luminizer. I like my powder one but I thought maybe a creamy one will work better or give me a "glowyer" look. I'm still trying to figure this stuff out. I do like it so far but I would like to try mixing it with my primer and a few other things like that but so far I've worn it on the tops of my cheek bones above my blush, the bridge of my nose and the browbone. I like it and I like that sheen it gives off . It looks good in the glowy way not oily yuck face. They do have a more golden color that I'd like to try also !

Vitabath Bodywash in Dreamy Pink Frosting - $7.99 @ Vitabath
I've never used a Vitabath product and I bought this solely because it smells dead like sweet yummy frosting. But really it does. I want to eat this stuff. And its pink (: The first time I used this I used it as bubble bath and its was foamy and bubbly for a few minutes but the bubbles left quickly which was sad but it made my water and the whole bathroom smell like a bakery so I was satisfied with that. When I used it as body wash it didn't lather as much as I wanted it to but I did smell yummy and I smelled yummy for a little while . After my shower I used my vanilla lotion from B&BW to further the sweet scent so without the lotion I'm not sure how long it would have lasted. I won't be buying this again since I like a good lather and this just didn't have the lather behind it. But it does smell good. And my skin doesn't feel any more moisturized or anything like that so it just basically smelt good. But I'm fine with that since that's why I bought it to start with.

This is the picture shown on the website. Mine didn't turn out that pretty so I thought I would add their picture in there too!

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil $4.50 each
I have been eyeing these pencils for a while and not having ever used an eye pencil I was like how am I going to draw on my eye and it work out? I did a couple test swatches at the store and I liked how the colors came out on my skin but I didn't know if that how they would look on my eye. I've been wearing my bronzy colors over brown powder eye shadow just to give the powder shadows more depth and shimmer and I like it but everytime I try to draw directly on my eye it moves my contacts around so I'm going to have to apply this on a no contact day or before I put them in but I do have high expectations for these. Now the lavender that I have I wear on my brow bone and my inner eye to brighten and highlight and its amazing ! I know lavender sounds crazy but I tried the shimmery white pencil and it looked like I was in middle school trying to play dress up but the lavender gives the light shimmery highlight I want without being too cakey white and you honestly cannot even tell that its lavender ! I haven't noticed that these crease but I've also been wearing them with the ELF eye lid primer and with packed powder shadows so I can't say that if you wore them on a bare eye alone that they wouldn't crease. But they do seem to have good staying power I wear them all day and they still look good at the end of the day.

These are the pencils I bought 625 Sparkle Nude , 614 Lavender , & 611 Yogurt

in the same order L to R : Sparkle Nude, Lavender & Yogurt
Sparkle Nude is a lighter tan-brownish color , the lavender is a light shimmery lavender that is almost white as you can tell and the Yogurt is the shimmer bronze. Which I'd never eat yogurt that was bronze colored but that's just me. But over all I like this product a lot and will buy more of these !

Recent Haul Review

I've been using these products all week 1. Because I wanted to bring you guys a review ASAP 2. Because I was so excited to use all of these new products so I abandoned most of my regulars so that I could see how they all worked. Most of them impressed me but I hate to say it some did not .

NYX stay matte but not flat liquid foundation in Ivory $7.50 NYX Cosmetics

I've been using this foundation all week & I even tried it out on Kristen. I hate it. The color goes on way lighter than it looks. Its defiantly not full coverage. I had to pack this stuff on & still could not get it to cover anything I ended up using my glamoflauge concealer in the places that this stuff didn't cover. As soon as it went on my face it completely dried it out. It made dry patches on my skin. I was really disappointed in this foundation. I used this on a bare face, a primed face & a freshly moisturized face. It still did not help  this foundation. Maybe I can find someone who has the right skin type for this foundation? I don't know but it defiantly did NOT work for me.

NYX stay matte but not flat HD powder foundation in Nude $9.50 NYX Cosmetics

(The top photo is mine but this photo is courtesy of NYX)

The packaging is super sleek & classy. It was love at first sight. When you first feel the powder its super soft and it gives off just enough sheer color. It covers well if you want to wear it without foundation but it also works great as setting a foundation and creating a matte flawless look. Unlike the liquid foundation with the same name this stuff is the BEST! I had been using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder and while I still like it the NYX powder goes that extra mile and makes me look a little more flawless and keeps the shine at bay a little longer. Its not as translucent as my Rimmel powder but I love it and it doesn't change the color of my foundation but instead compliments it. This will defiantly be a keeper in my book !

Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore $8.99 @ CVS

I bought this because I have been looking for a go to blush and look how beautiful this is. It's a deep rose with gold shimmer marbled in. I use it with a lot of my looks. It goes on smooth and is a very beautiful color that is easy to layer so that you can build it . I've worn it alone  & mixed with other blushes. I like it. I don't think it will be my "go to" blush but I will keep using it when I need to add some shimmer to my cheeks.

Maybelline FIT Me concealer $5.49 @ Target

I was really excited to try something else from the FIT collection since trying the foundation . I haven't actually used this concealer with another FIT product because this time of year (summer in Florida) my face is oily enough but I'm sure during the winter when my face is a little more dry I will be going back to my FIT foundation . But I do love this concealer for year around use. It doesn't make my skin oily and it covers great !! I have concealers that I've been using and loving but they are all the kind that I have to apply with my finger and I was really looking for a good one with a wand applicator. They offer these in a wide range of colors so that everyone is sure to find a match and its a full coverage and has a nice thick consistency but not too thick that it cakes up. I've used it on breakouts, redness, under eyes & just about any skin dilemma you may be trying to cover and I love it. Stays on for hours at a time. Will defiantly be keeping this around for a while !

Hard Candy's Fox in a Box blush in Spicy & Sweet $6 at Walmart

I have found the Blush of my dreams people ! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this blush. When I went to the store they had a few to pick from one with more pinks and another with more oranges and tans, I choose this one because it seemed to have a good balance of the pinks & tans. I defiantly want to try them all ! I think the packaging is super cute & I love the box idea versus just a plastic container and then you open it up and there are 4 beautiful colored blushes. You could probably just use the pinks or just use the tans if you wanted but I swirl them all together and its this beautiful glowing blush on my cheeks that last all day . I had used it a couple times when I took this picture and you can't even tell its been used which I was glad because I did not want to ruin how pretty it was. For $6 bucks you can't go wrong . There is a lot of product in there it will be awhile before I hit pan on this one and I feel like this would compliment anyone's skin tone you could use more pink or more tan or do as I do and swirl them altogether. I will be buying this product again & again . I'm also super excited to check out the other colors they offer !

This is just a better look into the box. The tannish orange & golden tan color on top and the baby pink and rose pink on the bottom. FYI: It does come with a cute pink brush but I do not use it I use a large fluffy brush to apply my blush.

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara $7.00 @ Walmart
I usually combine a few different mascaras to get the look I want so its very rare that I find a mascara that I can use by itself that gives me the long full lashes that I want. I've used the million lashes all week and I'm hooked ! I love how the brush separates each lash individually and makes them long and clump free. This mascara last all day even after I'm home from work. It hasn't smudged or ran. This is a keeper for sure that I think everyone should try.

Beauty Haul 6-17-13

These are some things I picked up yesterday mostly drugstore but I did pick up the NYX at a department store. I am beyond excited to start using these asap !! I picked up the Clearasil acne clearing gel while I don't have bad skin I do have the occasional breakout . The FIT concealer because I've heard amazing things about it and I love the FIT collection by Maybelline ! I used to use the Maybelline Great Lash mascara a while back and I liked it, well at Wal-Mart they had the 2 pack on sale for $5 !!!!! Do we really think I was going to pass that up? Um no!!! I'm still on the hunt for a blush that I absolutely love so Hard Candy's Fox in a Box is my next contender. As I've said before I LOVE the NYX setting spray so I decided to try the NYX foundation & powder (yayy!) and last but not least I've had the Loreal Million Lashes mascara on my -to get- list for a while and I really like the shiny gold packaging! lol. & some super good news... I've recently gotten on the Ipsy make up subscription list so I will be blog reviewing my bag of goodies each month and I could not be more excited !!!

Beating the Heat !

I recently purchased this bottle of magic online from Ulta. I've seen several YouTube vlogs where they finish their make up with a "setting spray" so I decided I'd give it a try. So began the research on finding the one right for me. A lot of the ones I looked into seemed a bit pricey and I really didn't want to spend the cash on something I've never tried before so that brought me to NYX Cosmetics . With the price tag of $7.99 ...a BARGIN compared to the others I had looked at running about $40.00+ for the same size bottle ! Once my jewel came in the mail I couldn't wait to apply a full face and spray away. The first week or two I was applying it and then heading to work and was aww like yayy it works then I got to thinking I really want to test this stuff out so the past two days I've been off work & Josh (fiancé) and I have taken the boat to the lake. Sun, water, sand, wind, heat & sweat. What a better way to test the working power of a finishing spray that promise to keep your full face on. So with full face applied and bikini on we were off to the lake ! Two days in a row of 5+ hours in the sun, on a boat fishing and tanning and even a little swimming and I still had a full face of make up to wash off in the shower ! So ladies and gentlemen this product is amazing ! I will be purchasing another bottle and they have a dewy finish so we will have to try that one. But the matte is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone ! It was great on the boat so I imagine it would be great for other summer outdoor activities BBQ's, baseball games, theme parks, hiking, biking...use it and let me know where you wore your NYX setting spray and how it worked for you!
