Walgreens beauty clearance UPDATED 11-16-13

I usually go to my local drugstores a few times a week, just in case they have any unannounced sales, or new items that came in and this week was no exception. Walgreens didn't have any had to be there sales like CVS did (40% off select makeup brands) but that's still no reason to see what they have going on and to my great surprise when I walked in I noticed a ton of the orange clearance stickers lining the beauty wall. SCORE. They had good deals on just about every brand, and as bad as I wanted to buy up some clearance mascara I walked away...although I may go back and see. I did end up with a Revlon foundation that was regular $13.99 & I scored it for $3.39 (chaaaaching) they also had eye shadow sticks from Revlon I believe that were marked down 75% off, I didn't need them but the more I think about it I may go grab them for stocking stuffers and giveaways...hmm maybe I can find a coupon to and get them cheaper! Comment below and let me know what your Walgreens has on clearance right now.

UPDATE: I went back and found a Revlon Concealer, two double ended eye shadow sticks AND Revlon make up is BOGO 1/2 off and it applies to clearance makeup!

 

The foundation and concealer are for me and the others will be put up for stocking stuffers.

 

Revlon Crazy Shine nail buffer, got 2b crazy sleek flat iron & blow dry lotion, Almay wake up concealer all on clearance! (the lip balm pictured wasn't on clearance, the Walgreens knock off of EOS lip balm) & also in regular clearance I bought a picture frame collage that holds 5 pictures for .75 cent!

40% Off @ CVS Haul

CVS Drugstores have Wet-N-Wild, NYColor & Physicians Formula whole entire line on sale for 40% Off this week, I was pretty excited because usually its not that much. & it was the entire line, not excluding certain items so even the newest fall collections are eligible! And the 99 cent items were ringing up 40% off! So this is what I've picked up so far...I may go back..! Also always be sure to check for coupons when you come in. They have the machine up front and now you don't have to have your card you can just type in your phone number and it prints right out, I had $5 worth of CVS Bucks I didn't even know about and I applied them to my purchase so that was exciting ! This current sale runs until Saturday then Sunday it all changes again! So hurry hurry and let me know what deals you find!

Sargento Cheese Review - Influenster

A couple of months ago I joined Influenster. It's basically an online program where you go & review different products from beauty, food, medicine, cleaning products, pet products, etc! Really there is a  category for everyone! You link your blog, youtube channel, twitter, facebook & any other social media outlet. The more you review and blog the more you build your points and earn badges. They always have different boxes going on for certain users to try. Sometimes it's one item they send you to test out & other times is a themed box geared towards moms, students, pet owners etc. You have to qualify for the boxes by completing reviews, & other tasks. I've only had one box so far but I'm hoping to earn more !

My first box was the Sargento Cheese box. Influenster didn't actually send me cheese in the mail. I'll tell you how it all works. I received a small box and it was all decked out in the Sargento labels and pictures. Inside the box I received a voucher for a full size cheese snack of my choice, a coupon for another cheese product from Sargento & then a super cute string cheese mini lunchbox, seriously it was so cute. I took my voucher and redeemed it at Walmart, I had no problem redeeming it and I did not end up getting cheese sticks but cheese cubes. I just like them better for snacking & as a side for lunches. I had already used the Sargento cheese brand they always have a wide variety of cheese flavors ( I love Colby jack!) I am always snacking on cheese with crackers or when I have a cold lunch (sandwich, fruit) I love to have cheese on the side. It's an easy side to throw in your lunch box and its healthy compared to a fried side or a bag of chips.

The cheese has a good flavor and I really liked it. I can't say that I like it any more or any less than other brands or even store brands. It seems to be in the middle price range, there are cheaper cheeses but also more expensive cheeses. I usually shop the sales and don't get attached to one brand on some things. Obviously I do have products I go back to over and over again but cheese just isn't one of those for me. I did have fun with my first box from Influenster and hopefully I qualify for another one soon! Maybe a beauty type box (: now that will be up my ally!

The concealer looks ok swatched but on my face its crap. I have the HD concealer by NYX also and I also have not had good luck with that.

 

 

October 2013 Ipsy

October Ipsy had arrived! Faster than last months bag!

ELF Treasure Hunt - Up to 75% Off

For the next two days ELF has certain items marked up to 75% Off. The idea is to scan the website for items marked with a pumpkin & they are the chosen items that once are added to the bag will be marked off (No Coupon Required) I scanned them and you actually have to click on them to find the pumpkin. Once the item is clicked on you will see a Jack O Lantern and it will say You have found the treat! So I searched and I found Studio Matte Eye Shadows, but I ended up getting bored with that because I guess they have all these pumpkins hidden well. So if you are up for the challenge go for it.

We all know I am obsessed with the Dollar Tree when it comes to cheap makeup finds, my local store is pretty small and its hit and miss but I usually do find nice ELF products or Rimmel, sometimes L'Oreal but that's pretty much it. Well while in town today I seen the biggest DT ever and I knew I had to stop and check out their beauty aisle. I've heard of people finding great brands in other stores so really I wouldn't have worried myself to death if I hadn't stopped. So here is my Dollar Tree find for today....

 

ELF Studio Matte Lip Colors aka Lip Pencils

I bought the Rich Red Color at my local DT this past week but was stoked to find 3 new colors that I didn't already have, which according to ELF's website there are only 6 colors and I have 4 now so maybe I can snag the last 2 soon! I keep telling myself I need to invest in more fall/winter colors but I love pinks and corals and they were only $1 and I couldn't pass that up! Online ELF has them listed for $3 apiece while I only paid a $1 each. Sounds like a deal to me!

L'Oreal Wear Infinite Silky Powder eye liner in Gold Shimmer & Brown Suede

I've purchased L'Oreal at my DT before but its just been blush & bronzer so today when I seen the eye liner I was all excited. As far as my everyday black liner goes I use a felt tip pen but I don't mind using a pencil for special colors on special occasions. I bought a brown and gold, they had also a silver and lavender but I was trying to stick to my fall colors and be reasonable. When I swatched these I was pleasantly surprised at how creamy and smooth they went on! Usually I have the worst time with pencil eyeliners but these may change me! According to google these go for $5.59 apiece but once again I only paid $1!

Milani Lip Pencil & Eye shadows

I've heard of people finding Milani in DT's but never in mine so when I found these today I was very happy! They had a few other shadow shades but nothing I needed (lime green!) and they had lipglosses but once again nothing that I wanted. The shadows go for around $6 at drugstores & the lip pencil about $3.98

The sheer sand wasn't as silky smooth as the spice, I'm not sure if just that color does that or I picked up a bad seed but maybe if I add primer it will go on better.

 

All in all I think I did great today! I couldn't be more proud of my makeup haul! If I would have bought these items at full retail price I would have spent over $50 but I only spent $14! Dollar Shave Club

I LOVE monthly subscription boxes & I love receiving packages in the mail, I don't know I just do! So I wanted to do something for Joshua but he's not a Birchbox kinda guy & Craftsman doesn't make a monthly box so I looked around and Dollar Shave Club sounds like something he would like, he uses razors all the time & they are expensive so Dollar and Shave  in the same sentence I'm on top of that. I am so proud of myself that its only October 4th and I have this up! Yayy me!

Ok first up my two none beauty items! I figured I'd add them in because I am all about my surroundings smelling good so sprays and tarts are a must in this house!

 

I love candles but I use warmers most of the time because they are flame free and safer and I get more use out of them than my candles. The Warm Welcome scent (Walmart $2) smells amazing. Like fall and baking all in one. I always get compliments on it when I have guest over. Renuzit spray in Pure Breeze. So clean smelling and always adds a fresh scent to my furniture without being over powering. Both I have already repurchased!

 

 

 

 

ELF natural lash kit - I wore these while being a bridesmaid last weekend in a friends wedding. AMAZING! I received so many compliments on these lashes and they were so glamorous and beautiful. Easy to put on and I used the glue that came with and they lasted all afternoon & night, they withstood the crying, laughing, and dancing of an outside wedding in Florida. Y'all know this weather is crazy down here and they didn't even slip. Oh yeh they were only $1 !!!! Promise. I plan on buying a boat load of these next time! By far the best false lashes I've ever bought.

 

CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara - I liked it. But I won't be repurchasing for a while, if ever. I have over 20 something mascaras to use right now so I'm trying to stay away from the mascara aisle. Plus there are others that worked better for me than this particular one.

 

 

OK I am a super impatient person and I can't believe I even bought a two hour kit because it was going to require me to actually do the same thing for 2 hours. Um no. I get so side tracked. So I ended up splitting this up into a bunch of  different times, I did notice whiter teeth, maybe not as white as they could have been if I had done it all in one sitting like suggested. I will not be buying this again because I like my 5 minute teeth whitener better, its less strings attached. But I do LOVE the gel trays I did save those to use with my other whitening gel. The Sensodyne is really good to use after you whiten your teeth because it makes mine feel so much better because sometimes bleaching my teeth makes them sensitive. We have a million mini Sensodyne toothpaste in our hall closet , the dentist sends home a hand full of them everytime so I usually use them when I whiten. I probably wouldn't buy these on my own to use on regular basis because they taste gross. But they are free so I'll continue to use occasionally.

Venus Spa Breeze razor - Been using these for years, don't plan on stopping now!

Suave 24 Hour deodorant - Smells good, keeps me dry & smelling good! Keeper

Vitabath shower gel - Pink Frosting, smells yummy just not sudsy enough for me

Suave Everlasting Sunshine body wash- We love suave in this house. Super sudsy and the smell always last for us!

Sephora Instant bronzing spray - FAIL. So glad I bought this on clearance and not full price. I was so disappointed by this product. Super streaky and the color was so off. Didn't last. Ugh I'll stick to drugstore instant tanners over this next time.
